Explorer Camp

Mount Sima Explorer Camp is a week-long outdoor-based summer camp, where children are physically active while building knowledge and connecting with the natural world around them.

Mount Sima provides the perfect location for children to explore and discover the Yukon’s natural world. We are committed to fostering an inclusive camp atmosphere where children can thrive exploring, creating and learning in the outdoors.


Weekly camp offerings alternate between 2 age groups:

Trailblazers - ages 6 to 8 years old

Rangers - ages 9 to 12 years old



Trailblazers (Ages 6-8):

Trailblazers camp is focused on having fun outdoors, while learning valuable nature-based skills. Campers explore the mountain through games and activity: adventuring through the forest, gardening, crafting, swimming and canoeing. We will learn about local flora and build important safety skills for enjoying the wilderness.


Rangers (Ages 9-12): 16 spaces weekly

INCLUDES AN OVERNIGHT CAMPING TRIP!

Rangers camp takes the Trailblazers activities and steps it up a notch! This active camp features more learning and exploring farther from the base, as well as an overnight camping trip. Campers will spend their days hiking, developing backcountry skills, navigating the forest, swimming, canoeing, biking, gardening and crafting.

Camp 1: June 29 to July 3 — Trail Blazers 6-8 yrs old (4 day camp; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday)

Camp 2: July 6 to 10 — Rangers 9-12 yrs old

Camp 3: July 13 to 17 — Trail Blazers 6-8 yrs old

Camp 4: July 20 to 24 — Rangers 9-12

Camp 5: July 27 to July 31 — Trail Blazers 6-8 yrs old

Camp 6: August 3 to 7 — Rangers 9-12 yrs old

Camp 7: August 10 to 14 — Trail Blazers 6-8 yrs old

Camp 8: August 18 to 21 — Rangers 9-12 yrs old (4 day camp; Tuesday to Friday)
